I Surfed Da Nang for 30 Days… Here’s the Truth

This video shares an honest experience from one month of surfing at My Khe Beach in Da Nang. The creator, a longboard surfer, found the waves generally small to medium (waist to chest high on good days), with a soft and safe sand bottom ideal for cruising. The best surf conditions occurred in the morning around sunrise when the water was glassy; afternoons brought wind chop. Mid-to-high tide produced slower, easier waves for longboarding, while low tide made paddling out harder and waves steeper. The water felt chilly compared to Thailand, so a light wetsuit or longsleeve is recommended, especially in February. Rentals from Lee Surfing cost about 250,000 VND per hour or 300,000 VND for two hours. The weekly budget for food and surf came to roughly 3 million VND. Overall, Da Nang offers relaxed, affordable surf with a friendly lineup, most consistent from September to November. It is not a powerful wave destination like Bali but suits those seeking a calm, beginner-friendly surf trip.
